Garvey Fountain Pic Update PDF Print E-mail

I still haven’t gotten over how well the Garvey Fountain project turned out.  We were recently at the Garvey home installing a new front door so I took the opportunity to get updated photos.  David had installed the benches and the fescue was a brilliant green.  It was begging for someone to grab a camera.

As nice as the fountain is, I also get cold chills when I see the brick work on the project :).  David Debtor, our brick mason, and his crew did a great job.  The masonry work on any project can make or break it and besides the fountain the brick work really adds that extra touch.

I think the Garvey's are all set for the wedding to happen soon at their home and we hopefully provided the quality work in a timely manner to help make it happen.

Garvey Fountain Complete! PDF Print E-mail

Ah!  The smell of fescue and completion is in the air! Our Garvey Fountain project is complete and we are taking pride in our work.

I would like to thank David & Cindy Garvey for the opportunity of working on their project.  David, shown here cleaning after the sod was installed, went above and beyond the normal home owner duties.  Beside the normal duties of providing a scope of work and writing checks on time :) , he provided design for the project, management help with subs, material delivery assistance, and kept the site organized and clean.  Basically “he’s the man” :)

I don’t want to give our other owners any ideas.  I felt pretty insignificant with all of David’s help so getting back to being the delivery and cleanup guy is going to feel pretty good.

This project has come a long way since we first started just weeks ago. From removing some old shrubs and dirt to building brick walls, paths and installing the fountain took some blood, sweat and tears.

Our next update will include a video showing some of the work that went on during the project so check back soon.

Fountain of Joy! PDF Print E-mail

Our Garvey Fountain project is progressing nicely. We have poured the footings for the brick retaining walls and the base for the fountain.

We also got a “wild hair” and installed the fountain before the brick work was started. It turns out to be a good decision. The fountain base came in sections so we had some flexibility with the installation and now the brick masons can work to the base.

I think we may make our deadline for the wedding after all. Our next update will include the brick work so check back in a week or so.

Footing for Fountain! PDF Print E-mail

Our newest project, the Garvey Fountain Project, will allow us to show our talents with site work and landscaping. The project is located on the brow of Signal Mountain and has a breath taking view.

We started the project by grading and removing existing shrubs, unneeded topsoil and lots of sandstone that stood in the way of pouring new footings for the new brick retaining walls.

We then formed the circle for the fountain base which includes knock-outs for planters. Thanks to Matt Kuntel of MK Concrete we were able to form and pour the fountain base and retaining wall footings in a couple of days.

There is no time to waste on this project. The Garvey’s have a wedding soon and the shotgun may be pointed at us in lieu of the groom if we aren’t finished in time!

Hart Home Kitchen & Bath PDF Print E-mail

The Hart home was completed near the end of 2008.  In the hustle and bustle of the punch-out process I never updated the finishes so this is the first in a few articles to highlight the final product.

The kitchen in the Hart home is one of my favorites.  We installed natural maple cabinets, unique granite counter tops and stainless steel fixtures to top it off.The blend of natural wood cabinets and floors with stainless fixtures and custom lighting really make this a perfect kitchen.

The master bath, which I photographed before the final dusting, oops, is highlighted with a 6’ x 6’ walk in shower with custom tile and fixtures.  We lowered the structure of the shower floor to allow a true walk-in feel with only a 1/2” difference in floor levels.   The vanities are height adjusted for Charles and Lina.  (The paint colors are nicer looking than my almost greyscale photo)

I really appreciated the Hart’s attention to detail.  Just about every item was carefully thought through and with the rush to move in nothing was over looked.   This helps us with our goal of providing the best project possible.
